The sonnet sequence, "My Human Disguise," of 600 ekphrastic poems, was begun February 2011 and completed January 15, 2022. It can be found beginning with the January 20, 2022 post and working backwards. Going forward are 20 poems called "Terzata," beginning on January 27, 2022. Thirty more Terzata can be found among the links on the right. A new series of dramatic monologues follows on the blog roll, followed by a series of formal poems, each based on a single word.

Joe Jungle Jones (A poem for children)
Joe Jungle Jones
I know you know Joe Jungle Jones, The long-legged monkey who hasn't any bones.
But do you know Cindy City Smith? She has only one tooth to whistle with. And what about ole’ Betty Barnyard Brown? Her hair grows straight up, not down.
Her big sister is Katie Country Cook, Her mouth opens and closes like a book.
Don't forget Samantha Seaside Sears; She has two feet where she should have ears.
My favorite, though, is Harry Hilltop Herman. He has no feet at all. He's a merman.
